Michael J. Martin has been Of Counsel with the firm of Thomas J. Dwyer & Associates since its inception in 1993. Michael is an attorney and Certified Public Accountant; he received his undergraduate degree from the DePaul University College of Commerce in Chicago, Illinois and was a member of Beta Alpha Psi, the National Honors Accounting Society. Michael earned his Juris Doctorate from DePaul University College of Law in Chicago, Illinois.

Michael began his career as a staff accountant at a small CPA firm in Chicago called Pandolfi, Topolski, Weiss & Co. before returning to law school. Upon graduating law school he joined the CPA firm of Checkers, Simon and Rosner in Chicago, where he became a Manager in the Tax Department. Michael worked for 15 years at various trading firms as in house legal counsel, Compliance Officer and Chief Financial Officer.  Michael focuses his practice on real estate, estate planning, business entity creation, the drafting of business agreements and contracts, complex tax matters and international tax issues with clients throughout Europe, the Middle East and India.

Michael is admitted to practice before the United States Tax Court, and is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association, the Illinois CPA Society and the American Institute of CPAs.

Michael lives in the south suburbs with his wife Janice. He enjoys travel and spending time with his three children and granddaughter.
