Elizabeth McBrearty joined Thomas J. Dwyer & Associates in February of 2020.  She earned her undergraduate degree in English from Georgetown University, and her law degree from Duke University School of Law.  After graduating from law school, Elizabeth worked as an associate at a large international law firm in Washington, D.C.  She then worked as an attorney in the Office of Chief Counsel of the Internal Revenue Service for nearly ten years, first in Procedure and Administration in Washington, D.C., and then in Small Business and Self-Employed in Chicago.  While at the Office of Chief Counsel, Elizabeth focused on litigation in the U.S. Tax Court. Elizabeth is admitted to practice law in the District of Columbia, Pennsylvania, and Illinois. 

Elizabeth lives in River Forest, Illinois with her husband, Michael, and two young daughters, Felicity and Alice.  She enjoys reading, yoga, and traveling to see her family in Philadelphia and the Jersey shore.
